Who we are
Göta IT is a software agency founded by engineers from Chalmers and Uppsala University. We design, build, and maintain custom software for companies across the Nordics — web applications, mobile apps, system integrations, and AI solutions. From first scoping to long-term operation.
Our model is direct: the engineers who scope a project are the ones who build and maintain it. That keeps decisions fast, accountability clear, and costs lower than at larger firms — what we cut is overhead, not quality.
We build on established technology, chosen for longevity and maintainability. Where AI adds value, we use it. Where it doesn't, we recommend something simpler.

What you'll do
- Scope and plan projects directly with clients — you're in the room when requirements are decided, not just handed a spec.
- Design and build web applications, mobile apps, system integrations, and AI-powered solutions.
- Present your own work to clients and answer their technical questions in plain language.
- Own your projects through deployment and into maintenance — you carry what you ship.
- Work across the stack as needed: frontend, backend, infrastructure, and AI/ML integrations.
What we're looking for
- A relevant degree (computer science, engineering, or similar) or equivalent experience.
- Strong engineering fundamentals — you can reason about trade-offs, not just follow a framework's conventions.
- Comfortable explaining technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluent in Swedish and English.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Gothenburg.
- Full-time.
- A bonus: things you build on your own time — side projects, tools, experiments.
